Private Education
We offer Individualised Diabetes Education, Management and Care for patients and their care team. Our Highly experienced Diabetes Educator will assess all aspects of your living that have an effect on your health and put a plan in place to get you on the right track for good health.
Its important for patients to have the most support possible, that’s why we also offer training for Families, Carers and Support workers of the person with diabetes. We cover the following topics and more;
- Diabetes education – Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and Gestational diabetes
- Blood glucose meters – provision, education and set up,
- NDSS registration
- Insulin commencement and ongoing management,
- Insulin pump therapy education – pump preparation, upgrades and new pump starts, ongoing management and education,
- Smart meters/app on phone – to assist with managing insulin when counting carbohydrates,
- Continuous Glucose Monitoring – set up, education, interpretation
- Preconception planning for people living with diabetes,
- Gestational diabetes – education and ongoing management,
- As well as ongoing patient management.
Nutritional services
- Chronic disease nutritional coaching and planning
- GDM nutritional planning and management
- Weight loss coaching
- Sport-specific diabetes nutritional management and coaching
- DAFNE (Dose adjustment for normal eating).
NDIS– We also help patients with disabilities develop strategies to remove barriers created by their disability and empower the person with diabetes, their family and or care team to live free from fear around diabetes management.
The aim is to build the capacity of NDIS participants, and their circle of support, to improve the ability of the person to have their diabetes care attended to. Everyone with diabetes should have the support they need to feel confident in their self-management.
Training, Education and Support for Families, Support Workers and Carers.
We create a training package specifically to the needs of the person/s with diabetes.
We coordinate with the client, family and health care professionals, to create a training session that will prepare the staff to be able to care for the person/s with confidence.
All sessions are delivered on-site at the clients home or your place of business and are 100% hands-on. All Equipment that the person/s currently use will be provided to practice with and contextualized resources are provided.
After the training, all staff will be issued with a 12-month certificate of competency for insurance purposes and PDP points.
One of the best services we provide is our one-on-one telephone assistance and guidance in the situation you have questions after the training. This is so useful that if you find yourself not knowing what to do in any situation you can talk with our trainer anytime.
